DURING: What happens on my photo shoot?
For most photo shoots, I will follow my trusted format of Settle - Play - Pose - Rest. On arrival, we spend about 15 minutes helping your pet feel at ease in the environment, with the camera, and with me. It’s vitally important that I earn their trust before I start taking photographs.
At the start of the photo shoot, when energy levels are high, it’s playtime, and I focus on dynamic images such as running, jumping, and other energetic behaviour. As the session progresses, we move on to calmer compositions of your companion sitting or lying down, before finishing with close-up portraits and informal candid moments as they relax.
As each photo shoot is unique, the format and itinerary are adapted as required to manage specific conditions, locations, and your companion's behaviour and ability.
Anyone is welcome to attend a photo shoot, and it's often a family outing. While it's not required, it can be helpful to bring two people your animal is familiar with. I will usually be accompanied by an assistant to help set up and ensure everything goes according to plan.

AFTER: What happens after my photo shoot?
After the photo shoot, I start the lengthy task of editing your photos and curating your portfolio. I aim to have this completed within 7-10 days of your photo shoot, although it’s often sooner.
After reviewing your portfolio and choosing your favourite images, I prepare a mock-up of your selected artwork for final approval before confirming production. Once selected, digital files are available for immediate download; prints usually arrive within 7 days, while framed images and canvases typically take about 10-14 days. Your online gallery will remain available, so you can invest in additional artwork at a later date.
